Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been described as “world class” and a “big talent” by Brendan Rodgers.

The Leicester boss praised the Spurs talisman ahead of their Premier League clash on Thursday.

Kane’s goalscoring record speaks for itself, but this season, the Tottenham ace has been far from his best.

The 28-year-old has just one Premier League goal to his name in 2021-22, and eight in all competitions.

Despite his lack of form, Rodgers talked Kane up at his pre-match press conference.

“For me he’s a world-class player and he has been for a number of years,” he told the Leicester Mercury.

“He will go into every game believing he can score.

“He’s a big talent and has been a big catalyst for them over recent years.”

Tottenham were last in action 10 days ago when they beat Norwich 3-0 in north London.

They’ve been improving under Antonio Conte, winning their last three Premier League games.

Circumstances out of their control have led to fixtures being postponed.

Thursday’s game, however, is scheduled to go ahead.

Kane will hope to kickstart his season and add to his goal tally against the Foxes.
