Celtic are interested in signing Leicester City winger Fousseni Diabate, according to reports. The Daily Record is reporting that Celtic are looking at the Mali international as a potential wide option before the Scottish transfer window shuts next week.
Of course, Diabate is currently playing under the management of former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium.
The 23-year-old has not however featured at all for the Foxes this season. The wideman’s last appearance for Leicester was way back in December, during a 1-1 draw with Fulham.

He went out on loan to Turkish side Sivasspor in January, so Rodgers did not get a chance to work with him last term.
That does not mean that the former Celtic boss does not rate him. Speaking to the Leicester Mercury earlier this week he highlighted the talent of the player but also pointed out the competition for places in his favoured position.
“I’d seen a bit of [Diabate]… I’d done my homework on him. It’s one of those where he is a talent, but there are others ahead of him.
“You can only have so many. We’ve got Harvey [Barnes], Demarai [Gray] and Marc Albrighton.”
Indeed, it looks very unlikely that Diabate has any chance of first-team football at Leicester this season and hopefully Celtic can use their links with Rodgers and former director of football Lee Congerton, who is also with the Foxes, to secure a Parkhead move.
At Celtic, with his pace and ability, he could thrive under Neil Lennon and provide quality cover in the wide areas.
