Leicester City have been linked with a summer move for Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney, according to 90Min.
Injury problems have seen the Scotland international make just five Premier League appearances for the Gunners.
That could see Mikel Arteta offload the youngster, just a year after his £25 million move from Celtic (Sky Sports).
Tierney was an instrumental part of Brendan Rodgers’ team that enjoyed a trophy-laden period under his management.
It does come as little surprise that Leicester will be at the front of the queue should Arsenal opt to sell the 22-year-old this summer.
In November 2019, Rodgers told the Daily Record of how much he rates Tierney as a player.
He said: “Kieran was absolutely brilliant for me during my time at Celtic – a great boy who was just so committed to playing for Celtic. He gave everything in training and did it with a real winning mentality.”
Rodgers might be on the lookout for a left-back as potential suitors will probably show their interest in Ben Chilwell.
If that is the case then Tierney might be an ideal signing, should Arsenal be willing to let him leave after a year.
The chance to work with Rodgers again will be attractive to Tierney and after his fitness struggles this season, he will face a fight to rediscover his best form.
Arsenal supporters saw flashes of brilliance from the defender but there is no saying that Arteta will fancy him as the first choice.
These quotes from Rodgers could be telling. He clearly values him as a player and a human being and the pair could form a match made in heaven at the King Power Stadium.
