Brendan Rodgers is doing loads of one on one work with 23-year-old Celtic player in training

Adam Idah has had a fantastic start to life at Celtic.

The January signing netted a brace for the Bhoys over the weekend to make it four goals in four league games for the Scottish giants.

The 23-year-old striker is seemingly loving life at Celtic Park, and, to be honest, it’s been a surprisingly good start for a player who scored just two league goals last term.

Idah has hit the ground running at Celtic, and, by the sounds of it, Brendan Rodgers has played a huge part in his good form.

Speaking on the RTE Soccer Podcast, Keith Treacy has been discussing Idah’s good start to life in Glasgow, and he says that he’s heard that Rodgers is doing a lot of individual work with the striker.

Treacy spoke about the striker’s development.

“He’s thinking about where he is in terms of pitch geography now. You look at Erling Haaland, I know Adam Idah and Ering Haaland are a million miles apart, look at Haaland’s movement, he may move out to the wings, but he gets back into the middle of the pitch, Idah now his positioning is an awful lot better,” Treacy said.

“Brendan Rodgers, I hear, is doing an awful lot of work with him, one on one sessions, making him feel loved, if he can get that confidence and put it into an Irish jersey, can Adam Idah force himself into that Irish team? Possibly.”

Perfect coach

Say what you will about Brendan Rodgers, but he knows how to get the best out of his strikers.

Luis Suarez and Jamie Vardy both won Premier League Golden Boots under Rodgers’ tutelage, while he did an incredible job with Odsonne Edouard last time around at Celtic.

Rodgers could well be the perfect coach to get the best out of Idah, and who knows? We could be seeing the start of something special for this young man at Celtic.
