Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has eased fans’ concerns by claiming that James Maddison is fit for the weekend. Leicester travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool this weekend have been boosted by the return of Maddison, Rodgers confirmed to the club’s official website.
Maddison scored against Tottenham Hotspur two weeks ago but missed last Sunday’s 5-0 win over Newcastle United. However, Rodgers says that Maddison has been training and he is fully fit for the weekend.
Rodgers told a press conference (quotes via lcfc.com): “James is fine. He’s trained the last couple of days and he’s okay.”

On the same day, Maddison was named in the England squad again. The 22-year-old was in Gareth Southgate’s last squad but did not make his debut. After impressing in the Premier League, he is pushing for his first cap.
TBR’s view
Southgate will undoubtedly have his eyes firmly fixed on the match between Liverpool and Leicester. With a host of England players appearing on both sides, he will be interested to see how they get on in this clash.
Maddison will have a point to prove after Southgate left him on the bench during the last two international games. The ex-Coventry playmaker scored the winner against Tottenham and he is a big-game player. Jurgen Klopp will need to warn his players about Maddison’s talents.
