Brendan Rodgers has revealed that James Maddison, Jonny Evans and Ricardo Pereira are all fit for Leicester City’s clash against Newcastle United this Friday.

Maddison completed his first 90 minutes in the Premier League since the 3-1 win over Liverpool back during the middle of February. The manager confirmed that having returned from his hip injury, the 24-year-old is nearing full fitness ahead of the visit of the Geordies.

Meanwhile, Evans is back to full fitness having overcome fitness issues he’s struggled with over the past few weeks. And Pereira is back to his best, according to the Northern Irishman, having had a spell out of the starting XI.

However, there was less than optimistic news about club captain Wes Morgan, who is still looking to recover from a back complaint.

The Foxes are looking to recover from last Friday’s encounter against Southampton where the Foxes were held to a 1-1 draw despite playing over 80 minutes with a man advantage.

With Champions League football almost secured for next season, the focus turns to getting all the important players back ahead of the FA Cup final against Chelsea.

Maddison has been a key figure for the Midlands outfit this season, scoring 11 goals and assisting a further 10 across all competitions in a stunning campaign.

However, the key aspect of his game this campaign has been his creativity. No Leicester player averages more key passes per game (1.8) and has been fouled more often per game (2) than the Englishman.

Meanwhile, Evans has been rock solid at the back, winning the joint-most aerial duels per game of any one of Brendan Rodgers’ men this campaign.

And whilst Pereira has struggled with injury for most of the year, his influence and quality in the final-third makes him an astute option off the bench in games to come.

After qualifying for the FA Cup finals for the first time in 52 years, the King Power Stadium outfit will be looking to lift the trophy and the return of the trio is a step in the right direction.
