Arsenal are reportedly planning an £8.5 million move for Bahia midfielder Ramires this summer.
Fox Sports report the Gunners sent scouts to watch the Brazilian U20 international, with the 18-year-old having been interesting Unai Emery for a number of months now.
Ramires – real name Eric dos Santos Rodrigues – has a growing reputation, and is the first player born in the 21st century to represent Bahia.
It is widely expected that the talented teen will be able to move to Europe in the near future.
Although probably not the kind of signing most Gunners fans would like to see, there is a chance that Ramires could prove to be another Matteo Guendouzi-esque signing this summer.
The French teenager was plucked from Lorient last summer for £7 million (Goal), and has had an impressive debut campaign at the Emirates Stadium.
Guendouzi has been one of Emery’s most trusted players, making 38 appearances in total so far.
He has frequently come in for praise for his confidence and desire to get on the ball for the Gunners.
Ramires could become the next young player to come in at the club and make a name for himself after being plucked from obscurity.
