New Arsenal signing Pablo Mari has been backed to become a success at the club by none other than legendary Brazilian star Rivaldo.
Mari sealed a loan move to the Emirates last month from Flamengo, with BBC Sport reporting there is an option-to-buy in place for the Gunners should they wish to sign the player permanently in the summer.
Mikel Arteta decided to move for defensive cover following a very worrying start to the season at the back.

Clean sheets have been a rarity for the north Londoners this term, with David Luiz, Sokratis and the rest struggling for consistency.
Mari has joined having previously spent a few years at Manchester City, although he never turned out for the club’s first-team.
Having been in Brazil, a lot of supporters don’t know too much about him, but Rivaldo’s comments may get them excited.

He said (Independent): “I think Pablo Mari will fit in very well at Arsenal and in the Premier League.
“He is very complete as a defender – capable of bringing the ball forward when necessary and a threat on set pieces. He has good passing skills as well and I liked what I saw from him.
“In Brazil, everyone has a good opinion about him, and he could be a very successful option for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta.”
TBR’s view – Rivaldo endorsement good news for Arsenal
Rivaldo’s comments are bound to get Gunners fans excited about Mari.

Few really know how good he is, but obviously Rivaldo watches the Brazilian league and can vouch for the Spaniard.
The suggestion he is a good all-round defender is good news – the Arsenal way is for players to be good with the ball at their feet, but Mari being strong defensively is absolutely vital given the struggles the team have had.
