Brazilian legend Cafu hails Everton new boy James Rodriguez

James Rodriguez has not been short of compliments during his time at Everton so far.

The Colombian superstar has made a very bright start to life on Merseyside following his move to the club from Real Madrid.

James scored his first goal for the club last weekend against West Bromwich Albion, and also provided an assist for one of Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s three goals.

Simply put, in his two games so far he’s made things look easy – and his game has prompted the legendary Brazilian full-back Cafu to sing his praises.

He said of his fellow South American (The Sun): “For me he’s a fantastic player, a sensational player, intelligent, a player, who, if you let him play the way he likes, for sure, he’ll do a lot for the Premier League.

“He’ll be a guy, who if you let him play, he’ll stand out. They will see the true value he has for the Championship.”

Given he reportedly (Sport) didn’t actually cost Everton anything in terms of a transfer fee, there’s real potential James could turn out to be one of the best signings of the season come next year.

James has shown a super level so far, and the idea he came on a free is madness considering Real forked out £71 million to sign him back in 2014 (BBC Sport).

He has absolutely delivered so far, and hopefully the 29-year-old can just stay fit; his talent can easily see him flourish in the English top-flight.
