Gareth Southgate’s men were denied on penalties by Italy on Sunday after an amazing tournament.

At times, it was hard to see anything other than an England win in the final. A number of the Three Lions’ key men had been colossal throughout the competition.
And one of those who was simply outstanding was Rice. The 22-year-old’s partnership with Kalvin Phillips was pivotal for England.

The pair played brilliantly together in the middle of the park. It is arguably a pairing that could be crucial for the country for several years to come.
Rice certainly reminded everyone why he has long been considered one of the brightest young players in the Premier League.
The Hammers man is surely now one of the first names on the team sheet for Southgate’s side.
