Marseille utility star Bouna Sarr has been discussing his future amid several links with Premier League clubs.
Everton have previously been linked but West Ham United and Crystal Palace have been the most recently linked with his signature.
Foot Mercato recently reported that West Ham were hopeful of signing the player, who has been thriving at right-back for Marseille this summer.
Crystal Palace are also keen on the defender, with BuzzSport suggesting that the Eagles could snap up the player for just £9 million.
It comes amid reports of Marseille trying to tempt English clubs into signing their players as they look to raise valuable funds this summer. The likes of Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are also interested.
Now, the player himself has been discussing his plans going forward. Speaking to Le Phoceen Sarr has admitted his desire is to play in the Champions League with Marseille. However, at 28-years-old, he is also aware that Marseille may now be looking to cash in on his services.
“Of course it’s always a pleasure. After that, I manage to ignore all of this now with my age. Casually, I am 28 years old so I also have this experience of knowing how to take a step back from everything we can say and read.
“Me, of course, I always said that my dream was to play the Champions League with Olympique de Marseille. But after, there are certain elements that we do not control , first explained the right side who can also play winger, before continuing. I will not go into details but we see that the club needs money, is a little in financial difficulty, so the decisions I will not be alone to make them.”
Both West Ham and Crystal Palace need to strengthen their right-back options for next season. The Hammers have seen Ryan Fredericks struggle with injury and Pablo Zabaleta is rumoured to be considering retirement. Palace never replaced Aaron Wan-Bissaka following his big-money move to Manchester United.
Sarr clearly has an aim to play in the Champions League and that could hamper West Ham and Crystal Palace’s transfer plans, especially with Atletico reportedly lurking. But it certainly sounds like, at the right price, Sarr could be available this summer.
