After much speculation, it looks like Scott Brown is likely to stay at Celtic. For quite a while now, Brown has been widely linked with a move to Australia.

But the Celtic skipper has rejected a move to Western Melbourne to remain at Celtic, according to The Scottish Sun.

The 55-cap former Scotland international is a cult hero at Celtic, having played over 500 games for the club since his 2007 switch from Hibernian.

In a decorated Celtic career, ‘Broony’ has won eight Scottish Premiership titles and nine domestic up competitions.

The Daily Record now reports that Brown is set to sign a new two-year deal at Celtic. And that will ensure that the 33-year-old veteran will finish his career in Glasgow.

Last night, Brown helped Celtic move six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The Bhoys triumphed over St Johnstone, picking up a fairly comfortable 2-0 win courtesy of goals from Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie.

Below are some tweets from Celtic fans, discussing just how impressed they were with Brown’s display and with his new contract situation.
