Borussia Dortmund interest in Celtic defender Kieran Tierney is a worry for Scottish champions

Celtic defender Kieran Tierney is certainly one of the key players at Parkhead and keeping him for the long-term should be a main objective of the club.

The 21-year-old is still under contract with the Scottish champions until 2023, but there is understandably reported interest in him ahead of the summer.

According to the Scottish Sun, German club Borussia Dortmund are keen to enter the battle to land the left-back on a £25million deal.

The report details that that the Bundesliga outfit would be prepared to rival English pair Leicester City and Manchester City for his signature, as they are both potentially interested in him.

Tierney is a full senior Scotland international that consistently performers for Celtic to a high level and losing him would leave them with a huge void to fill.

The full-back has already won four consecutive league titles and does appear to have the potential to go right to the top.

Leicester’s interest to Tierney are understandable due to the Brendan Rodgers factor, but the new speculation about Dortmund should be a major concern.

The Bundesliga has become a new home to several young English players that are thriving in the league and teams are prepared to hand them chances.

Tierney is a highly-rated British star that could surely dazzle in Germany and the option of joining giants Dortmund would surely be appealing.

They are Champions League regulars that are pushing for the Bundesliga title this season and could do with a new left-back moving forward, as Marcel Schmelzer is ageing and Raphael Guerreiro is more attack based.
