Borna Barisic returned to the Rangers starting line-up against Livingston and played most of the game in their 3-0 win.

The 26-year-old’s season has been dogged with various injuries but he made his comeback in impressive fashion at Livingston.

Barisic was a constant threat down the left flank when he bombed forward from left-back and his crossing caused all kinds of problems.

The Croatia international was also on set-piece duty and sent in some excellent deliveries which deserved to go down as assists.

But Barisic’s return is not good news for everyone at Rangers; it could be the final nail in the coffin of Lee Wallace’s Rangers career.

Even when Barisic was out injured, Gerrard preferred to play Jon Flanagan (right-back) or Andy Halliday (central midfielder) out of position.

Wallace’s future at Ibrox looks bleak and the return of Barisic makes him the fourth choice right-back now.

The 31-year-old really needs to force an exit before the January transfer window slams shut for the sake of his own career.

According to The Scottish Sun, Bristol City held an interest in Wallace earlier this January. That could be the Rangers outcast’s escape route, ending an eight-and-a-half year stay in Glasgow.
