Rangers left-back Borna Barisic has been talking up the potential of his team-mate Ryan Kent after his second stint at Ibrox sprang into life at the weekend.

Steven Gerrard secured the permanent arrival of the former Liverpool loanee in a reported (The Scottish Sun) deal this summer. However, a hamstring injury has delayed a return to the form he showcased in Glasgow last season. But Kent was on fire at the weekend as Rangers swept aside Hearts to set up an Old Firm League Cup final with Celtic.

Speaking to the Glasgow Evening Times, the Croatian made it clear just how highly he rates the talented Englishman and that there is still plenty to come from the player.

“Ryan Kent is a very good player, an amazing player. He has had some problems with injuries and he is maybe not right now at his top level.

“But you saw last season that he is a top player and how he can play. He played a very good game on Sunday.”

There is no doubt that injuries have prevented Kent from showing the sort of form that convinced Rangers to make his loan spell at the club permanent.

However, it seems he is on the cusp of rediscovering that form after his excellent recent display at Hampden Park.

Hopefully, that can be the catalyst for Rangers fans to see the best of Kent once again on a regular basis, starting with a big game against Portuguese giants Porto at Ibrox this evening.
