It seems Espanyol striker Borka Iglesias is set for the Premier League. That is, according to MARCA. As relayed by Sport Witness, the Spaniard is set to make a move to the Premier League this summer. The Barcelona-based club are even said to be looking for a replacement.

Which should be exciting news for fans of Everton. Because, based on previous reports, Goodison Park would appear his most likely destination.

In January, it appeared Everton made a bold move to bring in the Spanish striker. As reported by SPORT, Everton had agreed to pay his release clause to make a switch possible. That fee stands at €28 million (£24.1 million).

However, Iglesias rejected any idea of a move in the winter. That was despite it being suggested he might quadruple his salary at Everton.

At the time, many suggested it was an indicator of Everton’s lack of pulling power.

However, in reality, it probably has more to do with Iglesias’ situation. He only joined Espanyol from Celta Vigo in the summer. Leaving a club after just six months and halfway through a season is a tough decision to make.

Everton clearly have a better chance of signing him in the summer. This latest update suggests he is now open to a Premier League switch. Considering his record of 16 goals in 40 games this season, Everton will hope that is the case
