Bongani Zungu has told a Rangers fan on Instagram that he hopes that Steven Gerrard will look to keep him at Ibrox beyond the end of his loan spell.
Zungu was linked with the Gers for much of the summer. Ultimately, Rangers managed to sign the South Africa international. But as reported by Sky Sports, he is currently on loan with the club.

The report noted that the Light Blues have the option to make the deal permanent.
But with Rangers boasting so much quality and depth in the middle of the park, Zungu will have been aware that he potentially faced a tough time trying to earn a permanent move.

He has made a promising start to life with Rangers. And it appears that he has already won over a number of fans.
Zungu took to social media posting an image of himself playing in the retro kit Rangers wore in midweek.
Of course, given the result, it may have appeared to some to not be the smartest idea to go back to that game – particularly with the team winning on Saturday.
But one supporter responded to the post by telling the 28-year-old that they hope to see him signed.
And that prompted Zungu to reply with a message which clearly shows where he hopes to be next season…
