Boly is the man to help Wolves keep top scorer Diedhiou quiet against Bristol City

Wolves have a real chance of making waves in this season’s FA Cup, but their bid to win the famous old trophy takes them to face England’s in-form team tomorrow.

Bristol City are absolutely rampant at present, on a win of nine wins in a row, which have taken them into the Championship play-off places as other sides falter around the division.

Lee Johnson’s side enjoyed a ding-dong battle with the Old Gold last season at Ashton Gate, where Ryan Bennett’s last-gasp winner sealed a 2-1 win for the visitors, at the end of a spiky encounter.

There will be needle in a game that both sides will be viewing as a real opportunity to continue their momentum, and the hosts’ biggest goal threat is top scorer Famara Diedhiou.

The hitman has nine goals this season and is the man that Bristol City play off, but Willy Boly looks like the perfect man to keep him quiet tomorrow.

He has the physical attributes to match the striker in the air and across the ground, and if Boly can get the better of Diedhiou then it should allow Wolves to get a real foothold in the match.

Getting runners coming from midfield is a big part of Johnson’s gameplan but that can’t happen if the ball doesn’t stick up front – that’s why Boly’s role is so important if Wolves are to make the quarter-finals.
