Tottenham Hotspur loanee Juan Foyth is currently thriving away from Spurs on loan, while Jose Mourinho’s charges continue to have problems at the back.
The Tottenham defender had been out of favour since the Portuguese’s arrival in North London and, earlier this month, sealed a season-long loan move to Villarreal.
In case Villarreal don’t want to buy him, then Tottenham wouldn’t be left with a player with just 12 months left on his contract.
However, Foyth is certainly making his case for his current club to spend money on him at the end of the season, given his impressive displays in the yellow shirt.
And in last night’s European win at Qarabag, Foyth once again did well – one shot, one key pass, 83 percent passing accuracy, one interception and three clearances.
Foyth made just seven appearances for Tottenham in all competitions last season, with four of them coming in the Premier League, and hasn’t even played for Spurs in 2020.
He wasn’t in Mourinho’s plans long term, but given how well he’s doing and how Spurs are flattering to deceive at the back, the option for Villarreal to buy is starting to look like a mistake now.
