A number of Blackpool fans have replied to Daniel Ballard’s latest tweet after the Arsenal loanee helped the Tangerines secure a massive win in their bid to make the League One play-offs.

Neil Critchley’s men went into Tuesday’s clash with Sunderland off the back of two defeats. Their last victory, in fact, came against in their previous meeting with Lee Johnson’s side.

Ballard produced an amazing block on the line in the previous meeting between the two. And he, along with his teammates, stepped up once again on Tuesday.

As shown by Whoscored, he made eight clearances during the contest. That was twice as many as any other player on the pitch at the Stadium of Light.

There is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding which division Blackpool will be in next year. But what is clear is that many of their supporters want the Arsenal loanee to stay.

Ballard paid tribute to his teammates on social media after the victory. But in response, several fans insisted that the club need to do all they can to bring him back.

One fan even posted the famous clip of Rio Ferdinand urging Manchester United to hand Ole Gunnar Solskjaer whatever contract he needs to take the job permanently.
