Leeds United defender Barry Douglas has completed a move to Blackburn Rovers on loan – and some of their fans on Twitter have expressed massive delight on Twitter that they have secured his signature.

Douglas has joined Championship side Blackburn on a season-long loan, where he will hope to help them achieve promotion from the second-tier and they have started well to currently sit sixth in the table.

The 31-year-old’s contract at Elland Road expires in the summer and that will lead to questions about his long-term future, but he’s been an important player for the Whites in the past two years.

He is an attack-minded left-back that was part of the side that were beaten in the play-offs during the 2018/19 season, but Marcelo Bielsa’s side got the job done last year by finally earning promotion to the Premier League.

Douglas has previously been promoted from the Championship with Leeds and Wolverhampton Wanderers, which highlights how much quality he’s got and it would be no surprise to see him nail down a position at Ewood Park.

A selection of Blackburn supporters on social media are over the moon to see the Scottish full-back join them for the rest of this season
