An incredible report from Spanish outlet El Gol Digital has claimed that Everton are interested in signing Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham Hotspur.

The report has suggested that the Toffees are open to selling Lucas Digne this summer.

Atletico Madrid are apparently planning to make a move for the Frenchman, who Everton value at at least £25.8 million (€30 million).

And should Digne leave Goodison Park, El Gol Digital claims that Reguilon is the player that Carlo Ancelotti wants as his replacement.

TBR View: Surely absolutely no chance of Everton making Reguilon move or letting Digne go

Reguilon has made a hugely impressive start to life in North London. So it is not difficult to see why he may have admirers elsewhere.

However, there is surely absolutely no chance that Everton will make a move for the Spaniard. And there seems just as little chance of Digne leaving anytime soon.

For starters, Digne signed a new long-term contract at Goodison Park just last month. Of course, the Toffees may feel that they have a decision to make if a team tries to break the bank to sign him. But it seems highly unlikely that Ancelotti will have any interest in upgrading him.

Tottenham meanwhile, agreed a fee that could rise to £32 million when they signed Reguilon from Real Madrid (via Sky Sports). They are unlikely to show any interest in selling for anything less than a figure that sees them make a huge profit.

If Everton are indeed fans of Reguilon, they will certainly be aware of how difficult it would be to prise him away.

So as things stand, you could certainly understand why Everton and Spurs fans may be writing off this rumour without hesitation.
