Jamie O’Hara has named his combined Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United midfield partnership – snubbing Rodrigo Bentancur in the process.
Speaking on TalkSPORT’s YouTube channel, the former Spurs man was choosing a combined squad ahead of the two sides’ clash this weekend.
O’Hara believes that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Joelinton would be a top midfield partnership.

When offered the choice of Joe Willock or Bentancur for his first midfield slot, he said: “Bentancur. Willock’s ok, he’s a good player.
“He drifts in and out of games. Bentancur’s a top player.”
But when the pundit had to choose between Joelinton and Hojbjerg, he decided to snub Bentnacur for a place in the side.
“Oh, why have you put Joelinton in midfield? Because Hojbjerg’s got to be in there but I love Joelinton,” he said.
“Bin off Willock and bin off Bentancur. Give me Joelinton and Hojbjerg then you’ve got a top midfield.”
It’s unclear whether O’Hara chose Bruno Guimaraes for the role of the third man in midfield as the video only covers seven positions.
The former Spurs man chose Hugo Lloris over Nick Pope, but gave the nod to Dan Burn over Ivan Perisic.
Harry Kane, Kieran Trippier and Allan Saint-Maximin also made it into O’Hara’s squad.

O’Hara names combined Tottenham and Newcastle midfield
You’d think that Bruno Guimaraes would definitely take up the other slot in midfield, if there is one. The Brazilian has been outstanding since his move from Lyon and is arguably one of the best midfielders in the league.
But it’s a surprise to see O’Hara snub Bentancur, a player he has praised massively this season. The Uruguayan has been a mainstay in Tottenham’s midfield and really impressed since making the switch from Juventus back in January.
Joelinton has been superb in Newcastle’s midfield though and it was a masterstroke by Eddie Howe to reinvent the player in a new position.
It will be a fierce battle in the middle of the park on Sunday, with the sides set to face off in North London.
