Billy Koumetio appears to confirm Leeds-linked Yasser Larouci's Liverpool exit
Billy Koumetio appears to have confirmed on Instagram that Yasser Larouci will leave Liverpool this summer – in a post that may interest Leeds United fans.
In truth, Larouci’s departure has looked to be inevitable for some time. The Liverpool Echo reported last summer that he was set to leave in that window.
It was claimed that he had resisted signing a fresh contract amid interest from Leeds and Brentford.
Of course, no move would take place. But it seems that Leeds remain admirers of the Algerian youngster.
The Sunday Mirror (14/3; page 69) reported a couple of months ago that the Whites are once again looking at Larouci ahead of this summer.
Interestingly, Reds youngster Koumetio appears to have bid farewell to his teammate on social media this weekend…
Obviously, it is not yet apparent where Larouci’s next move will take him. But Leeds certainly appear to be in need of a new left-back.
As noted by the Mirror, Gjanni Alioski’s contract expires in the coming weeks. And Stuart Dallas has been a revelation in the middle of the park.
So Marcelo Bielsa’s men will surely add to their ranks ahead of their second year in the top flight.
Larouci is unproven in the Premier League having not made his top flight debut for the Reds. But Leeds have done a superb job of signing incredibly bright young players in recent years.
So maybe there is indeed a chance that Larouci could end up joining a Premier League rival.
