Arsenal are reportedly in the chase to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, who could leave the Foxes this summer after three seasons with the Premier League club.

According to Het Nieuwsblad, the Belgian international is preparing to leave the Foxes at the end of the campaign, with Brendan Rodgers side looking increasingly unlikely to qualify for Europe after reaching the UEFA Europa League after two seasons on the bounce.

Tielemans has been a key player for Leicester over the past few seasons, with the midfielder scoring the winning goal in the 2021 FA Cup final to clinch the Leicestershire-based club’s first piece of silverware since their historic Premier League triumph in 2016.

However, as per the report, Tielemans is eager to move on from Leicester, with Arsenal one of many clubs keeping tabs on the 24-year-old, who could be available this summer for as little as £35m.

Indeed, the update comes just a month after Arsenal reportedly met with Tielemans’ agents, with Goal reporting that the Premier League star was on the club’s radar as a potential January signing. However, no approach was made as the Gunners made no new additions during the window.

Although Tielemans’ form has been poor this season, along with Leicester as a whole, most Arsenal fans on social media are hyped that the midfielder is open to leaving the Foxes in the summer, with supporters hoping that the Gunners can win the race for the midfielder.

Central midfield will be an area that needs improving for Arsenal with Mohamed Elneny set to leave at the end of his contract and Granit Xhaka also potentially on the move, and for fans, Tielemans could be the perfect signing to partner Thomas Partey.
