‘Big statement’ – These Leeds fans react to Helder Costa signing

Leeds United have officially announced the signing of Helder Costa from Wolves. The 25-year-old winger initially arrives at Elland Road on a season-long loan deal, which will become a permanent switch next season. 

The Portuguese forward represented Wolves in the Premier League last season. Whilst he was a regular in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, he struggled to show his best form in the top flight. In the previous campaign, though, he was instrumental in firing Wolves to promotion from the Championship. In his last term in the second tier, Costa registered 5 goals and 6 assists. 

Leeds will be hoping that Costa can get back to his best this season. The Whites will need Costa to impress if they’re to achieve their goal of promotion. Marcelo Bielsa’s side just missed out last season, but fans will be hoping that their new man can give their squad the extra boost it needs.

Costa himself will be desperate to get back to his best and force his way back into the Premier League as a Leeds player. He may well feel that he has unfinished business and plenty still to prove in the top flight.
