Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has a strong relationship with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and that has worked to the Whites’ advantage.
According to a report in The Sun last summer, Guardiola is willing to loan his players to Leeds, knowing they will develop well under Bielsa.
In the summer, Leeds managed to sign Jack Harrison on loan from the Premier League champions.
And they could return to Man City in the summer to ask Guardiola for another starlet to bolster their squad options.
One Manchester City starlet that Leeds must consider is Rabbi Matondo.
The 18-year-old is widely known for his electric pace, clocking a 20m sprint time of just 2.62 seconds.
This staggering record even trumps two renowned speedsters Kyle Walker and Leroy Sane.
Matondo’s only senior playing time has come in the EFL Trophy, where he has netted three goals in five starts.
It seems like the talented teenager is ready to step up to senior level after scoring the opener against Barnsley last night.
While Matondo might find it hard to replace Kemar Roofe in the starting line-up, he would provide a good back-up option for Leeds.
Given the once-capped Wales international’s blistering pace, he could be a handful for Championship defenders as an impact substitute.
