‘Better than Lacazette’: Some Arsenal fans wowed by ‘generational’ 18-year-old’s U23s display last night

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to hail Nikolaj Moller for another impressive display for the Gunners Under-23s.

The 18-year-old has made quite an impact for the Arsenal reserve side following his arrival from Swedish outfit Malmo in the summer.

Moller, described by the Gunners website as a “powerful striker and prolific goalscorer”, has linked up with the club’s Professional Development Phase this season.

According to The Independent, Arsenal paid Malmo a fee in the region of £450,000 for Moller, with the player committing to a four-year contract in North London.

The 6ft 4in youngster made an immediate impact for Steve Bould’s side with a sixth-minute goal on his debut against Manchester City’s U23s.

To date, Moller has three goals and one assist from five Premier League 2 appearances, and also netted in the successful penalty shootout against Gillingham in the EFL Trophy.

He added to his tally in Friday night’s PL2 win over Derby, picking up Cirjan Catalin’s ball in the box and coolly slotting into the bottom corner.

Needless to say, Moller is looking like an exciting prospect with big things ahead of him, and some Gunners fans are eagerly keeping tabs on his progress.

Below is some of the social media reaction during and after the game:
