Manchester City academy graduate Cole Palmer delivered a superb performance on his England Under-21 debut.

The 19-year-old midfielder is one of the most highly rated players coming through the Etihad ranks.

On Tuesday night, Palmer replaced the injured Emile Smith Rowe as England’s U21s faced Kosovo in European qualifying.

And he took his chance superbly, scoring an absolutely sensational goal for his nation.

Palmer took his marker out with a Cruyff turn before bearing down on goal and firing home from a tight angle.

His efforts saw him win the Player of the Match award after the game.

Palmer has already made his Premier League debut for City, and now he’s hit another milestone.

How long before the teenager becomes a regular for Pep Guardiola’s side and makes his senior England debut?

Judging by how well he’s been progressing, you wouldn’t think it would be that long.

Here is what some fans have been saying about the Manchester City gem’s display:

Palmer has been part of City’s academy setup for over a decade and signed a contract extension in June that ties him to the club until 2026.
