Liverpool fans saw their team lose out 1-0 to Brighton last night but at the same time, got a glimpse of reported target, Yves Bissouma.
The Reds have been linked with a move for Bissouma in recent months. Indeed, at the beginning of January, The Express claimed that Jurgen Klopp was keeping a close eye on the Brigthton man.
Bissouma is a man in-demand. The likes of Arsenal and Manchester United are also said to have expressed an interest. His performance last night showed just why, too. Sitting in the Brighton midfield, Bissouma expertly broke up the Liverpool attacks time after time. He covered plenty of ground and, when he did have the ball, used it wisely to help the Seagulls start good counter attacks.

It’s little wonder, then, that Liverpool are keen. And with Jordan Henderson having to be deployed at centre-back and Gini Wijnaldum still yet to sign a new deal, Bissouma could be more welcome than ever this summer.
Brighton have a number of players who seem capable of making the step up to the very top clubs. Ben White, another monitored by the Reds, also showed his class. The likes of Adam Webster and Lewis Dunk impressed again, too.
But it was Bissouma who caught the eye of a lot of Liverpool fans last night. While their own team struggled to get going, the Brighton man was causing quite the stir on social media with his performance.

Signed from Lille back in 2018, Bissouma has gradually developed a reputation for himself as one of the best in the league in his position. Graham Potter values him very highly. He provides protection, energy, and steel to a team that prides itself on playing football on the deck.
Bissouma has made 70 Premier League appearances since arriving in England. This season has seen him play in all but two of Brighton’s games. Interestingly, both those games ended in defeat, albeit to the two Manchester clubs, respectively.
It seems inevitable really that the Mali international will move on from the AMEX eventually. Bissouma’s quality, effort levels, and composure mean he is consistently standing out in a team battling for survival.

Liverpool, then, are bound to keep their interest in Bissouma on some level. The Reds will need to make some signings in the summer. This seaosn has exposed their lack of depth at times, and the Brighton man could be a perfect signing. And that was a view shared by a number of Reds fans on social media last night. Twitter was awash with comments from Liverpool supporters who were impressed with Bissouma’s display.
Here, then, is a look at what some Liverpool fans had to say, as calls for the club to land Bissouma gathered pace online.
