With Scottish football having ground to a halt, the nation’s professional players are having to find ways to entertain themselves at home, and Glasgow Rangers ace Ianis Hagi is no exception as the Ibrox club shared a video of his Stay at Home Challenge efforts.
Steven Gerrard’s Rangers, along with the rest of the teams in the Scottish Professional Football League, will not be in action until further notice due to the major health crisis sweeping most of the world.
Last week, all domestic professional and grassroots football under the jurisdiction of the Scottish Football Association was suspended indefinitely, with SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster saying it was “neither realistic nor possible” to continue in the current climate (BBC Sport).
Rangers have already shown off efforts from Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard, striker Alfredo Morelos and midfielder Joe Aribo on their social media feed, and on Friday they posted the Genk loanee’s impressive exploits.
Several Bears were impressed with Hagi’s skills and took to social media to have their say:
The Glasgow Evening Times claimed earlier this week that Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson struck a deal with Genk that would give the Ibrox side the first option on signing Hagi permanently this summer.
The report also claimed that Hagi has reiterated to the Scottish Premiership side that he would like to extend his stay beyond this season.
Rangers currently sit second in the Scottish Premiership table, 13 points off top spot, and are still in the Europa League, the first leg of their last-16 tie with Bayer Leverkusen having finished 3-1 to the Bundesliga side.
