A number of Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to praise Kristoffer Ajer’s performance on Wednesday night as Neil Lennon’s Hoops just about managed to bring three points back to Parkhead.
Celtic were given a tough game at St Mirren as Lee Erwin gave the hosts a shock third-minute lead when he scrambled home at the back post from a corner.
However, first-half goals from Shane Duffy and James Forrest managed to turn the game around for Celtic, as they held on to secure their fourth consecutive Scottish Premiership win.
The Bhoys defence wasn’t at its most watertight, it has to be said, but Ajer – who has come under criticism on a few occasions lately – put in one of his better displays of the season in Paisley.
The 22-year-old was confident in dealing with the opposition attacks, recovering well when they looked to exploits gaps, and was composed when driving forward with the ball.
Here is what some Celtic fans were saying on social media about Ajer’s display:
Taylor makes us very weak in attack down the left….
Elhamed hasn’t covered himself in glory so far at CB….
Christie been on it tonight!
Ajer brought the ball out well!
Height on the cross n Duffy’s on it!
Hopefully lift the pace n urgency n get a few more 2nd half!!🍀👌🏻

Apart from Ajer carrying the ball forward, distribution from the back hasn’t been great tonight.

El Hamed poor. Ajer looked good next to Duffy. New LB needed. Comfortable enough without being that good tonight.

Can you explain what he done wrong tonight? Genuinely curious. Elhamed had a mare but Ajer strolled it.

Ajer was the best player on the pitch and if he shaved away the arrogance and was 100% committed in everything he does he would be top class. I can see why the Italians like him

Tell you what though, ajer was class tonight man the bigman can carry the ball through the lines so well
