‘Best player on the pitch’: Arsenal fans react to performance of Gabriel Magalhaes against Liverpool

Arsenal won on penalties against Liverpool tonight in the EFL Cup, in what was a good performance on the night from Mikel Arteta’s men.

The Gunners were defensively solid and despite putting out a team consisting of a number of young players, looked largely at ease with what the Arsenal boss wanted them to do.

A number of players impressed on the night, including goalkeeper Bernd Leno, who made a number of fine saves in the Arsenal goal.

However, it was the performance of summer signing, Gabriel Magalhaes, which caught the eye of a number of fans on Twitter.

The Brazilian kept Mo Salah relatively quite throughout and must surely be in with a chance of taking David Luiz’s place when the Gunners face Sheffield United on Sunday.
