Portugal head into the Euros as one of the favourites to win the tournament.
Indeed, the 2016 European champions have one of the strongest squads in the tournament.
However, there’s always room for improvement, and speaking to ESPN, Bernardo Silva has been discussing which non-Portuguese players he’d most like to have as teammates.
Interestingly, alongside Kylian Mbappe, Silva picked a pair of Arsenal players as two he’d really like to play with, claiming that Declan Rice and William Saliba would be fantastic teammates at international level.

Bernardo Silva would like to play with Declan Rice and William Saliba
The midfielder spoke about the two Arsenal stars and how much he’d like to play with them.
“I’m going for one midfielder. I’m going to say Declan Rice, I really like him. I’m not going to say any City players so you don’t think that I’m going with friends otherwise I could have said Rodri or a striker or whatever, so I’m not going to say any teammates. I’m going to go with Saliba, I think he’s a really good defender.”
Saliba and Rice would make Portugal almost unbeatable
If Portugal had Saliba and Rice they would be almost unbeatable at Euro 2024.
Saliba alongside Ruben Dias would make one of the strongest centre-back pairings in the world, while a midfield of Rice, Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes would be so beautifully balanced.
Factor in the talents of Diogo Jota, Rafael Leao, Joao Felix and, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo in the attack and you have perhaps the most frightening team in world football.
As things stand, Portugal are already one of the strongest teams heading to Germany for the tournament, but if they had Rice and Saliba in their ranks, they’d be heavy favourites to win the title.
Arsenal are very lucky to have these two players at club level, and they could make the difference this summer for England and France respectively.
