Everton playmaker Bernard says he is playing the best football of his Goodison Park career, according to the club’s official website.
The playmaker, who Spotrac claim is earning £120,000 per week following his summer move to Merseyside, has perhaps struggled for consistency at times as he adjusts to life in England.
But he feels that is behind him now and said: “I did not have a pre-season and was out for more than five months with my shoulder injury – but now I am feeling this is my best moment in the Premier League.
“It is my first season in this country and I feel very good with Everton and in English football. I have been adapting and understanding how English football works.”

Every player needs a full pre-season behind them, especially if they’re moving club, moving country and adapting to a new style of football and culture in a country.
It all takes time, and it didn’t help either that Marco Silva’s side were stuttering in the first half of the season as they struggled with what the manager was demanding.
Last weekend’s game against Fulham was an aberration but of late, Everton have been playing better and have home wins over Chelsea and Arsenal to show for it.
Bernard has been a key part of that and Everton will hope for more of the same next season from the Brazilian.
