Everton winger Bernard could perhaps be the man to replace Gylfi Sigurdsson in a central role, if the the star has to spend some time on the sidelines.
The midfield maestro will not take any part for his country over the international break as reported by The Independent, after being caught with a late challenge by Chelsea’s Jorginho at the weekend.
Sigurdsson was caught late by the Italian, who was lucky not to see red.

He tried to play on, but was eventually substituted by Marco Silva.
He left Stamford Bridge with a protective case.
Everton fans will be praying there is no lasting damage, as Sigurdsson has been one of Everton’s top performers so far this season.
If there is though, and he has to spend some time recovering, then Silva should definitely consider shifting Bernard inside to replace him.
Bernard the ideal replacement
Sigurdsson has really made the number 10 role his own this season, and he’d be a big miss there.
He has all the qualities to excel in that position.

But free summer signing Bernard should be considered as his direct replacement going forwards.
The Brazilian is unpredictable and a brilliant dribbler. If he had the freedom of operating centrally, it could bring out a side we haven’t seen from him yet.
Bernard, who earns £125,000-a-week according to The Mirror, has great vision and has the ability to play killer passes.
He may not have a rocket shot like Sigurdsson, but he’d be great at finding those little pockets of space between the lines.

Him moving centrally would also vacate the left wing, which could then see Ademola Lookman come into the side, which is what many Toffees supporters want to see.
