The 26-year-old winger is one of Serie A’s top performing players. Last season Berardi scored 17 goals and assisted six in the Italian top-flight with Sassuolo, who finished eighth in the standings.

Inter Milan and Juventus are also eager on the attacker, who last Friday played a starring role for Italy in their Euro 2020 opener. Berardi was hailed as one of the player’s of the match as Roberto Mancini’s side steamrolled Turkey 3-0 in Rome.

Tottenham’s wingers performed poorly last season, with Erik Lamela and Steven Bergwijn failing to hit double digits each in goals or assists. And for supporters on social media, Berardi could be an excellent signing for Tottenham this summer.

Here’s what some Spurs fans had to say about the Italian international on Twitter, with a few supporters keen for the attacker to join in the transfer window…

As per the report, Sassuolo will sell Berardi this summer for a fee of €50m (£43m). However, this price tag could go up should the winger continue to impress for Italy this summer at the Euros.
