West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Steven Bergwijn this month.

The Hammers have been credited with interest in the PSV Eindhoven winger (The Sun) along with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

Bergwijn has placed himself in the shop window having been involved in 17 goals for the Dutch outfit in the Eredivisie this season.

He has impressed with his productivity in attack, and his versatility to be able to play on either wing.

West Ham may face an uphill battle to land Bergwijn if the interest is genuine, with the bigger clubs likely to offer higher wages.

But if they somehow manage to pull it off, then one man might be looking over his shoulder.

Pellegrini looking for an Antonio upgrade?

It could be that West Ham’s reported interest in Bergwijn is bad news for Michail Antonio.

The winger has enjoyed an upturn in form of late after an inconsistent start to the season.

The Englishman has been picked to started by his manager in six of the last seven Premier League games, but maybe the Bergwijn interest suggests Manuel Pellegrini feels he can still be upgraded upon.

Bergwijn would be a direct threat to Antonio, given that the Netherlands international is just as versatile as he is.

Athough Antonio has been improving, Bergwijn would be a quality addition for the Hammers.
