Tottenham Hotspur star Rodrigo Bentancur and manager Antonio Conte had a real go at each other during their defeat to Manchester United last night.

Spurs went to Old Trafford having lost just one game in the Premier League all season. Conte’s brilliance was expected to really trouble the hosts, but Manchester United absolutely battered them.

Tottenham were really sloppy from the start last night.

They gave the ball away far too many times and that allowed Manchester United to trouble them constantly. On the touchline just a few minutes before half-time, Conte was not happy at all.

When Bentancur gave the ball away, the Italian’s frustration peaked and he had a real go at the Uruguayan.

The 25-year-old, however, didn’t just take it. Football London reveal that Bentancur fired back at Conte and made his feelings clear before play resumed a few seconds later.

We wonder what happened between the pair at half-time or after the game last night.

When the team sheets were announced last night, almost everyone felt that Conte had gone with a 3-5-2 formation with Bentancur, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Yves Bissouma starting in the middle of the park.

However, when the game began, it was a surprise to many to see Bentancur playing as a right winger.

The Uruguayan, who joined Tottenham for £16.5 million in January (Sky Sports), tried his best yesterday, and his pressing, at times, was really good. However, playing out wide is not what he’s amazing at, and it is no surprise at all that he struggled in different periods of the game.

Tottenham take on Newcastle this weekend and it will be interesting to see if Bentancur will get the nod as a winger again.
