Benni McCarthy has told The Scottish Sun that Rangers have secured a fantastic footballer after completing a deal to bring Bongani Zungu to Ibrox on loan.
Zungu arrived at Rangers as the deadline loomed on Monday. As noted by The Scottish Sun, he has joined on loan. But he is out of contract at parent club Amiens next summer, so he could pen a pre-contract deal with the Light Blues in January.

The 27-year-old had been linked with the Gers for much of the window. So Rangers fans will be hoping that he was worth the wait as they finally got a move across the line.
But McCarthy is confident that he has every chance of proving to be an inspired signing.
“I’ve watched him blossom over the last few years and Rangers have got themselves a fantastic footballer,” he told The Scottish Sun. “He is the complete midfielder, very comfortable on the ball and so strong in the tackle. He can play as a defensive midfielder too because he is so good at cleaning up.

“But he also offers you an attacking threat and he can score goals.”
“Zungu can do everything in the middle of the park and that is why Steven Gerrard was so desperate to sign him,” he went on to add.
TBR View: Zungu deal the icing on the cake for Rangers
It is difficult to suggest that Rangers had anything other than a fantastic window. Steven Gerrard’s side appear to have addressed any potential areas for concern.
And following Zungu’s arrival, it is probably fair to say that they have added depth in every area of the pitch.
As McCarthy notes, he is a player capable of playing almost anywhere in the midfield.
So it will be fascinating to see how Gerrard uses him over the coming months. Wherever it is, it appears that McCarthy will be backing him to be a major success.
