Benjamin Sesko called him ‘magic’ before Man United vs Brighton clash – and then he proved it

Benjamin Sesko played his part as Manchester United defeated Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League, with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Casemiro among the goals.

It marked three wins on the bounce for Ruben Amorim, who has finally found his rhythm as Manchester United manager – something that was very much needed.

The Red Devils were excellent against the Seagulls, with a standout individual performance from Bryan Mbeumo, but plenty of United’s side earned their plaudits.

That includes Matheus Cunha, who scored his first goal in a United shirt and was spectacular throughout.

Benjamin Sesko called Matheus Cunha “magic”

Cunha’s abilities were known from his time at Wolves, but despite a lack of end product back then, he’s already making his mark in a United shirt.

Teammates have recognised this, including fellow summer signing Benjamin Sesko, who was asked his thoughts about Cunha in a Q&A before the weekend clash against Brighton.

He said: “Next up, Cunha?” Sesko was asked.

“Magic. Yeah, he always finds a way out. Even if three players press him, he will always find a way out. That impresses me,” Sesko said.

Sesko is impressed by Cunha, and this was even before arguably his finest game in a Manchester United shirt against Fabian Hurzeler’s side.

Matheus Cunha was electric in Manchester United vs Brighton

Saturday’s game proved Sesko’s theory more than correct. Cunha was absolutely sublime throughout and produced a magical moment in the 24th minute, bending his right-footed strike past Bart Verbruggen to make it 1-0 at Old Trafford.

Cunha’s all-round game is arguably what’s impressing Manchester United fans the most. As Sesko suggested, his ability to manoeuvre and navigate out of tight spaces is phenomenal.

His fine show against Brighton was reflected in his stats.

We’ve got to agree with United’s Slovenian star – Cunha is truly quite “magic.”
