Liverpool have been linked with Benfica striker Darwin Nunez and he scored against them last night, in a 3-1 loss.
The Reds did a professional job in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final, securing a two-goal lead to bring back to Anfield.
Nunez did half the arrears just after half-time, but the Reds netted late on to go to Anfield firmly in command of the tie.

After the game, Nunez delivered his verdict on the Reds on a night where he found the net but left disappointed.
“Liverpool are a great team, but we are not afraid of them. We will work to get a good result in the second leg. I’m not happy that I scored, what I want here is to win titles, not score goals. I go home sad,” said Nunez.
“Yes, we wanted more, but it was not possible. We are confident, this was demonstrated in the second half.”

And there is admiration from Jurgen Klopp towards Nunez, as he said before the game: “He’s a good striker. The next one from Uruguay, I don’t know how they play together – Cavani, Suarez, and him. In one team, that’s probably a challenge as well to put that in place. But, it’s a top, top boy.”
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo have been quoted by Sport Witness as saying that Liverpool are ready to make their move for Nunez this summer.
It’s claimed that Benfica now want a huge £60million fee for Nunez at the end of the season. Other clubs have more pressing needs for a new forward, but what an addition the frontman would be.
