Ben White’s agent Alex Levack has told Sky Sports News (broadcast on 26/8; 17:24) that the defender will not be going back to Leeds United this summer, but went on to issue a somewhat cryptic update on his future.

Leeds fans are starting to come to terms with the prospect of White not returning to Elland Road. The centre-back was outstanding while on loan with Marcelo Bielsa’s side last term.

However, the success of the loan has seemingly counted against the Whites. As reported by Sky Sports, Leeds have made three bids for the centre-back, with the most recent worth £25 million.

But Brighton have rejected all of their offers. And Sky Sports has suggested that the Seagulls have no plans to let him move to Elland Road as they expect Leeds to be a direct rival in the Premier League next season.

And White’s agent has now confirmed that Brighton’s stance makes a return to Leeds impossible. He did however, suggest that there may be an update on the 22-year-old’s future just around the corner.

“The latest is there’s a lot of conversations happening. Unfortunately for the Leeds fans, Ben’s just not going to be coming to Leeds. Brighton have categorically said that there’s no way that they’re going to sell to Leeds. So unfortunately, that’s the case,” he told Sky Sports (broadcast on 26/8; 17:24).

“There’s conversations going on. Ben’s away, up in Scotland with the Brighton team for pre-season, getting himself fit, getting around the team. I would say, watch this space over the next few days.”

TBR View: Agent’s comments perhaps hint at new Brighton contract

The recent report from Sky Sports noted that White had rejected a number of contract offers from Brighton.

But, simply based on Levack’s comments, perhaps it should come as no surprise if an agreement is reached in the coming days.

Levack notes that White is getting used to his surroundings back amongst the Brighton team and hints that an update may be on its way.

And with the player’s agent ruling out a Leeds move, it is perhaps a safe bet to assume that White committing his future to his current club may be the most likely scenario.
