Ben White tells Leeds United youngster he misses him on Instagram

Ben White’s name has been quickly forgotten since Leeds United took the Premier league by storm in their first four matches – with his replacement Robin Koch beginning to impress at centre-back. But White still misses Leeds.

White, 22, starred for Leeds during their promotion to the Premier League last season. He played every single match throughout 2019-20 for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, clocking up 49 league and cup appearances at the back for the Whites.

But with his loan spell missing a permanent clause – unlike loans for Illan Meslier and Helder Costa who have since joined permanently – White was forced to wait and see if Brighton would accept any offers from the newly-promoted Yorkshire side.

Sky Sports reported that Leeds had a third offer of £25million rejected for White in August and soon after that, White had signed Brighton deal. He struck up some friendships at Leeds, and one of those – Olly Casey – posted on Instagram this week.

Casey, 19, who has since made his debut for the first team, played for the Under-21 side in a 2-2 draw with Barrow in the EFL Trophy earlier this week. The young defender is some way off the first team, but was known to be close with White last term.

Indeed, White showed he misses Casey and Leeds as a whole by commenting on the youngster’s upload, a simply “Miss you”.
