Ben White has thanked Arsenal’s supporters after making his first appearance for the club yesterday.

Impressive debut

White only signed for Arsenal on Friday, but he was quickly thrown into action for a friendly against Chelsea.

White impressed in the main, despite Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat, and was given a great reception by the Emirates Stadium crowd.

One block in particular caught the eye, as White charged back to stop what looked like a certain goal.

And the 23-year-old was delighted to play in front of Arsenal’s supporters.

White is expected to have a big role to play after arriving at the Emirates.

Arsenal have made the former Brighton & Hove Albion defender one of the most expensive signings in their history.

He should step into Arsenal’s backline immediately, although it is uncertain who is partner will be.

Arsenal could use Rob Holding or Gabriel alongside White, and it will be interesting to see who Mikel Arteta decides to go with, with the Premier League season now not far away.
