Ben White has suggested that he is looking forward to the new season, ahead of his Arsenal debut against Brentford tonight – with plenty of his former Leeds United teammates reacting.
Debut pending
White is expected to start in the Premier League’s curtain raiser, as Mikel Arteta’s side look to get their season off to a winning start.
White is Arsenal’s most expensive signing of the summer so far, but he was showing no signs of feeling the pressure on his social media, as he struck a relaxed pose and wrote ‘new season smile’.
Former Leeds United teammates Luke Ayling and Kalvin Phillips were both quick to respond to him.

Leeds connections
Leeds midfielder Phillips and White, of course, spent the summer together with England.
Phillips played a far more crucial role than White as Gareth Southgate’s side made it to the Euro 2020 final, but the Arsenal centre-back would have gained invaluable experience just by being part of the squad.
Arsenal are the favourites to beat Brentford tonight, but White will almost certainly face a challenge on debut.
The £50 million centre-back is due to come up against Ivan Toney, who plundered 33 goals in the Championship last term.
And it will be interesting to see how he stands up to the physical challenge of facing Brentford’s main goalscorer when all eyes will be on him.
