Ben White has received some criticism from England fans after the Arsenal No.4 refused to play for England.
Gareth Southgate revealed on Thursday that the 26-year-old asked not to be selected for this month’s round of international fixtures, but did not explain why.
Now – after Ben White snubbed England – the Arsenal defender may not want to read what Ian Wright said back in 2014…
Ian Wright on those who snub England
Well, after Harry Redknapp revealed that some of his players at Tottenham dodged playing for the Three Lions, Wright heavily criticised the anonymous figures in a strongly worded column for The Sun.

The 60-year-old wrote: “The next young player who says he does not want to play for England should be ordered to ring the parents of a soldier who has died serving his country in Afghanistan and tell them his reasons.
“I find it shocking anyone should want to turn their back on the chance to play for England. It’s something I will never understand.
“They should have the guts to come out in public and say, I don’t want to represent my country and this is why. I’m sure some people will read this and think “get off your high horse, Wrighty” and they’ll probably say I’m out of order for mentioning Afghanistan in this context.
“But, think of the sacrifice Our Boys made and then consider whether a bit of stick from the fans and media is such a terrible thing to face. There are millions of fans who would happily pay for the privilege of wearing the Three Lions on their chest.”
Arsenal legend may be furious with Ben White
We would – therefore – love to know what Wright thinks about White’s decision.
It is surely fair to suggest that the Arsenal legend is upset with the £50m defender based on these comments.

Having said that, people must reserve judgement until the situation becomes clear – nobody knows for certain what has happened with White in the England camp, so he may be well within his rights to snub Southgate.
Only time will tell.
