Leeds United target and former loanee, Ben White, was said to be have been ‘disappointed’ to have missed out on a return to Elland Road following his spell with the club last summer.
White has recently signed a new deal with Brighton, putting to bed any speculation surrounding his immediate future in football.
However, his agent, Alex Levack, has revealed that White was left with a feeling of disappointment after learning he wouldn’t be heading back to West Yorkshire. (Quotes from Sky Sports)
“There was a tinge of disappointment but that passed quickly, Ben’s head is fully at Brighton and he wants to get cracking in the Premier League now.
“He enjoyed his time at Leeds incredibly. They looked after him so well, the fans were fantastic to him. But when a football club doesn’t want to sell it’s very difficult.”
Leeds have since moved on to other targets and quickly landed Robin Kock as their replacement for White.
The Englishman is expected to be in and around the Brighton first XI this season, despite the Seagulls having Lewis Dunk and last year’s big signing, Adam Webster, involved. The club has, however, allowed Shane Duffy to join Celtic.
These comments don’t really help, it’s time for all to move on – TBR View
Obviously, White’s agent was simply asking a question put to him here with a bit of honesty but it doesn’t exactly do much to endear White to the Brighton supporters before he has even kicked a ball.
Leeds is a massive club and the defender did well there. But he was always Brighton’s player and, essentially, that is the point in using the loan market for PL clubs.
Hopefully, White will show this season what he’s all about and talk of Leeds and his past can be dispelled.
