Leeds United defender Ben White has been rewarded for his stunning form at Elland Road by winning the PFA Fans’ Championship Player of the Month award for August.
The centre-back won the poll convincingly. He was awarded 44% of the vote ahead of Swansea City’s resurgent striker Borja Baston, who placed second with just 16%. Fellow Leeds United player Patrick Bamford came fifth with 9%.

Speaking after receiving his award, White was quoted by the official Leeds United website as stating his thanks for the fans who voted for him.
“It’s really nice to get an award like this and I’m thankful to the people who voted for me.”
There is no doubt that White was a deserving winner of the award. He has been one of Leeds’ most outstanding players this season after arriving as a replacement for a former fan favourite.
The statement ‘In Bielsa We Trust’ was tested to the max this summer when Leeds sold Pontus Jansson to Brentford and decided to go with a loanee from Brighton as his replacement.
However, White has looked perfectly suited to the style of play on show at Leeds United under the management of Bielsa and this award was more than justified.
Leeds fans will just hope he continues to put in such performances as the months go by.
