Ben Parker has told the LS11 Podcast that he finds it dangerous when he hears Leeds United fans describe Saturday’s clash with Huddersfield Town as the Terriers’ cup final, insisting that it should be a cup final for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Leeds will be looking to continue their recent winning run when they face Danny Cowley’s side at Elland Road this weekend.

The Whites have won their last four, and produced one of their best performances of the season last Saturday as they beat Hull City 4-0.
And with Huddersfield just four points above the Championship relegation zone ahead of this weekend’s derby, you would be forgiven for thinking that it should be a relatively comfortable win for Leeds.

However, Parker has warned that Leeds must not take Huddersfield lightly as they look to get themselves across the line in the promotion race.
“I find it dangerous where people keep going on about it being Huddersfield’s cup final. Why isn’t it ours? Make sure it’s ours,” he told LS11.
“Focus on us, it shouldn’t make a difference if they raise their game. We have it all the time, teams come up against us and raise their game. Raise ours. You play for Leeds United. And that’s what the boys have done so far this season.
“If you match them for all the ugly sides of the game, the work-rate, running off the ball, tackles, all that, player for player, we’re the best team. But earn the right.”
Leeds’s players will be aware of how important it is that they avoid any complacency. Of course, they are looking to prove an additional point after what happened last season.
It was not too long ago that Bielsa’s side were beaten 1-0 at home by Wigan Athletic. And Huddersfield have won their last two games.
There is no question that if Leeds replicate their second-half performance against Hull, they should be well on their way to winning another three points. But Parker is right to note that Huddersfield will not make it easy for the home side.
